- PROBLEM
- Muscle strain builds up unseen — GPS and heart rate show the load on the body, not on each muscle.
- APPROACH
- 16 dry-electrode EMG channels woven into compression wear stream to a small edge unit; a model flags rising fatigue and risk per muscle region in real time.

- PROBLEM
- Clubs hold more athlete data than their staff have time to turn into decisions.
- APPROACH
- ABTAC reads Sarx data, GPS load and session history, and answers questions like 'who should train light tomorrow?' — with the reasons behind every answer.

BadgerXLabs
Muscle-level injury prevention for professional football — sensing, risk modelling and coaching in one system.
WHY IT MATTERSMuscle injuries are the most common time-loss injury in football — and they are managed after they happen.
01What it does
BadgerXLabs pairs a wearable EMG suit (Sarx) with an AI coaching assistant (ABTAC). The suit measures load per muscle region, the model turns it into risk, the assistant turns risk into a training decision.
Working Sarx prototype · 40 lab sessions recorded · ABTAC answering on real training logs
02Our goal
Become the standard muscle-risk layer in professional football by 2030 — in the kit bag of every elite club's medical staff.
03The plan
- Q3 2026Club pilot starts
- Q1 2027ABTAC beta with staff
- Q3 2027CE certification
- Q1 2028Commercial launch — 10 clubs
04Expected gain
For a club: fewer muscle injuries, fewer lost player-days and less wage paid to injured players. Pilot target: 25% fewer muscle injuries over a season.
05The potential
About 4,000 professional and academy clubs in Europe alone, sold as hardware plus a platform subscription per squad. The data set grows with every session and becomes the moat.

Sarx — Wearable EMG Suit
A compression suit that reads muscle activity per region, in training and in matches.
WHY IT MATTERSMuscle strain builds up unseen — GPS and heart rate show the load on the body, not on each muscle.
01What it does
16 dry-electrode EMG channels woven into compression wear stream to a small edge unit; a model flags rising fatigue and risk per muscle region in real time.
Prototype v2 tested on 14 athletes · signal within 5% of lab-grade EMG
02Our goal
Real-time muscle risk on the pitch — no lab, no wires, no extra work for the staff.
03The plan
- Q3 2026Pilot batch — 30 suits
- Q4 2026Wash & durability tests
- Q3 2027CE mark
- Q1 2028Production run with partner
04Expected gain
Staff see risk rising during the session itself and take the player off before the strain, not after it.
05The potential
Hardware at €1,200 per suit plus €9k per squad per year for the platform; 60% gross margin at 1,000 suits a year.
Illustrative figures for design review — not actual company data.
Tessera
A general-purpose finite element platform where verification, reproducibility and the working behind a result are part of the product.
WHY IT MATTERSEngineers cannot show why an analysis result is right without redoing it; software is validated by its vendor, the model never is.
01What it does
A web-based, general-purpose FEM platform: structures first, then the physics we already run for clients. Every solver ships with published verification cases and every run is version-stamped and reproducible.
The solver core and its verification suite run in production behind the free calculators on badgermecx.com (2D frame & truss, sections, buckling, beams, wind load), each with published reference cases.
02Our goal
Make verification and reproducibility the normal way analysis software works — and take a share of the engineering simulation market with it.
03The plan
- NowVerified calculators live on the web
- [Q2_2027]Accounts, saved models, reports
- [Q2_ 2028]2D model editor in the browser
- [Q4_ 2028]Design checks and 3D
04Expected gain
For the engineer: less time proving a result, fewer review cycles. To be measured with the first users.
05The potential
Seat-based subscription for engineering offices; market size and pricing from the financial model. The verification library grows with every solver and is hard to copy.
Illustrative figures for design review — not actual company data.
ABTAC — AI-Based Tactical Assistant Coach
An assistant that reads training load, EMG and session history, and answers the coach in plain language.
WHY IT MATTERSClubs hold more athlete data than their staff have time to turn into decisions.
01What it does
ABTAC reads Sarx data, GPS load and session history, and answers questions like 'who should train light tomorrow?' — with the reasons behind every answer.
Answering on two seasons of anonymised training logs
02Our goal
One clear answer every morning: who trains full, who trains light, and why.
03The plan
- Q4 2026Closed beta with pilot staff
- Q1 2027Match-day briefing module
- Q3 2027Third-party wearables
- Q1 2028Commercial release
04Expected gain
Hours of analysis saved every week, and decisions the staff can explain to players and the board.
05The potential
Software licence at €18k per club per year; also sold on its own to clubs that use other wearables.
Illustrative figures for design review — not actual company data.
